Artificial Intelligence / Neurotech Writer (Business / Research News) - TechEmergence, LLC

We run an emerging technology media publication focused exclusively on artificial intelligence and neurotech. We regularly interview researchers from top universities and C-level execs at emerging technology companies in order to glean their ideas on the progress and predictions of intelligent tech. In addition to our own young publication, we've published articles of our exclusive interviews in TechCrunch, the Boston Globe (BETABoston), Xconomy, and many more. One of our initial goals is to become the most reputable and cutting-edge publication for AI / neurotech, and this is one of our many reasons for a move from Boston, MA to Mountain View, CA. There are currently 3 regular writers for our publication (one of whom is in Berlin), and we're looking to bring on a 4th who can not only write great articles, but who is open to helping with pitching some of our articles to larger publications, and potentially help with our marketing / social media distribution. We're looking for folks: - With writing experience (sending along 2-3 past article-length pieces is a good start) - With a strong interest in emerging tech, neurotech, AI (you don't have to be a "singularitarian" or anything, but we're looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm!) - [preferably] With a science background (work or school experience) - [preferably] With experience in social media or pitching for media coverage You SOME of what we do will be fitting for a "work-from-home" / flexible arrangement, it's likely that most of our work will be done from Mountain View (nothing beats team energy, and in-person speed). Though we'll probably start off around 20 hours per week, it's likely that 40 hours per week will be the next logical step in early 2016. Sound like something that might be up your alley? Please provide: - 2-3 past article-length pieces is a good start - No formal "cover letter" required, just list 1-2 reasons that this job seemed to be a fit for you, and list a few things that we should know about you (this part can be fun) - Any kind of relevant resume (academic / work / volunteer exp) - Any questions you have about the position (questions are a good thing, we always assume smart people will have good questions, fire away)
