Content and Social Media Community Manager - VenueBook

VenueBook is a forward thinking startup based in the heart of New York City. As we expand, we’re looking for a candidate with experience and passion in social media, content creation and marketing. This position will report and work with the Marketing Director to shape and drive the Marketing Strategy as you work on campaigns and promotions taking an integrated approach to social media and content marketing. Your role: - Taking direction from the marketing strategy, plan and develop social and content strategy - Write, create, optimize and post social media and content from concept to going live - Write and create Internal and external company collateral; slide decks, pdfs, word docs, powerpoint - Create image assets for YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogs, emails, infograhics and quizzes (video animation skills a plus) - End to end email and newsletter management, from content creation to list management - Take an integrated approach to search and social to drive marketing goals & objectives - Manage and build Venuebook’s online presence and communities - Stay on top of social media trends and develop best practices educating internal and external stakeholders - Stay on top of website and social media optimization (SEO, image standards, best practices for growth and engagement) - Monitor and respond to posts and comments on blogs, forums, and social networks - Identify content gaps and provide recommendations for implementation based on driving maximum traffic and engagement - Build brand reputation on various networks - Create great story hooks and news-worthy, valuable content that promotes VenueBook thought leadership and documents our achievements - Drive and track goals for engagement and growth through metrics and analytics - Report on activity, target audience analysis and trend forecasting - Produce social media listening and engagement reports - Attending, photographing and promoting events - Possible collaboration with writers, editors and content creators - Essential Qualities & Required Experience: - Strong content writing experience and skills - Graphic design & multimedia skills (Adobe Photoshop experience, or demonstrated graphic design skills) - Marketing, Communications or Advertising majors preferred, with 3 years of experience on the Web - Outstanding social media skills with a previous history of writing for social media - Excellent communication skills - Motivated, personable and outgoing - Excellent research skills (data, fact checking) Desired Qualities/Experience: - Hospitality experience - Photography experience or talent - Working knowledge of Asana, Sprout social, Google Apps (mail, docs, sheets, drive etc.) - Basic HTML/CSS familiarity is a huge plus (e.g. unafraid of embed codes, and standard tools for composition, link creation, etc.) Compensation: - Salary between $45k to $60k depending on experience - Health/Dental/Vision: We share the cost of health insurance, with options for dental and vision, as well as a suite of cafeteria benefits. - Resume builder: Boast strategic and brand management skills for running online campaigns through social media, as well as experience working with early-stage start-up.
