NYT bestselling author and health and fitness expert, Yuri Elkaim, is on a mission to help 10 million live healthy fulfilling lives by 2018 and our blog at YuriElkaim.com is becoming one of the most sought-after natural health, nutrition, and fitness websites on the web. Our goal is to provide EPIC content that makes healthy and fit simple again. We're seeking an experienced EDITOR to come on board and ensure consistent tone and quality across our blog posts. We're a virtual team, so you can work from anywhere. We have a few different ghost writers who do great work; however, we need a final set of eyes to ensure their writing matches Yuri's tone and voice in all finished work. Previous print journalism, writing, and editing experience is STRONGLY preferred. This position is for you if: * you love the writing and editing craft and take pride in quality work… * English is your first/native language... * you have a strong understanding of and experience working in Wordpress and know how to embed Youtube video or audio podcast players (details on this can be provided to you) into posts… * you have a good visual eye for content layout and understand how to break up content with short paragraphs and subheads to make reading easier… * you are comfortable working in Google Docs and Sheets… * you have a basic or advanced level understanding of SEO... * you have a passion for or interest in health and fitness... * you're able to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines... * you can handle fluctuating periods of higher and lower work loads... * you're a team player who is able to work well with our content manager and writers... This position is for 10-15 hours/week and compensation is $1500 USD per month. Most of your work will entail the following: * WEEKLY: review/edit 5-10 1500-2000 word blog posts each week to ensure consistent voice and tone (minimal editing or re-writing will be necessary due to the quality of our writers) => anticipated time = 30-60 minutes per post. * OCCASIONALLY: bring together content for various "round up" posts, comb over the content for spelling/grammatical errors, and add "lead in" for the content (all round up content will be provided to you) => anticipated time = 1-2 hours per round up post * OCCASIONALLY: comb over guest writer submissions to ensure quality writing and no spelling mistakes. => anticipated time = 30 minutes per post * QUARTERLY: review/edit ONE in-depth health report (30-40 pages) that will be turned into one of our paid products (all writing will have been completed, you would just clean it up). => anticipated time = 4-8 hours per report.
