Current Events Writer - The Alternative Daily

The Alternative Daily (http://ift.tt/1lLzuBK) is looking for writers who can turn around current events articles quickly. Target quantity is a minimum of 1 article per day. Article size: 600-950 words. The Alternative Daily voice is reflected in our tag line: Free-Thinking. Well-Being. Inclusive. Rapid turnaround is essential in this role. While article topics are provided, we encourage our writers to get involved in pitching ideas. We are looking for original content articles only. Please apply if you: - Know how to get and keep reader attention - Are free thinking and inclusive (and ideally someone who also cares about well-being / health and wellness) - Consider yourself a writer first – i.e., you don’t necessarily have to be an expert in current affairs, politics, etc. We are looking for the alternative to mainstream (even though our articles are often about subjects that are ‘in the news’). - Know how to write clean copy (while we edit all articles before posting, we require short edit cycles) We are looking for individuals, not a company/team of writers. In addition, you must be available for occasional contact on Skype.
