Communications Coordinator - Rockwood Leadership Institute

Specific Duties o Maintain Storybank o Gather stories from staff o Connect with alums for interviews, and to gather stories and news  Create and Craft Content o Write and edit blog posts, monthly newsletter/emails, and website content o Work with Communications Manager to develop blog and social media content o Create and edit graphics and digital/print resources  Support Rockwood’s Communications Strategy o Work with Communications Manager to develop editorial calendar and yearly marketing/communications strategies o Stay on top of nonprofit marketing/communications tools and best practices  General Administrative Duties o Set up workflows and systems around content collection and creation o Monitor and report analytics/metrics o Assist in maintaining Rockwood’s website/blog and social media channels o Support all teams’ communications needs and coordinate between teams as needed o Support Communications Manager with special projects Job Requirements and Qualifications Experience: • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience providing administrative and/or communications support, including writing and editing (correspondence, web content, grant proposals, publications, etc.), for a small- to medium-sized office-based business • Baseline understanding of the nonprofit sector Required Skills • Proactive and deadline-driven — comfortable taking initiative to get things done • Creative thinker with proven track record of developing and carrying out creative projects • Exceptional writing and editing skills — loves grammar, style guides, and reading • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop (or Design Suite), and Salesforce (or other CRM) • Great communicator — able to connect with people over the phone, through email, and in person • Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Impeccable attention to detail – has an organized system of managing tasks and follow-up • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to resolve issues that may come up • Ability to work within a diverse workplace and to relate to a broad spectrum of people • Optimistic and positive team player Preferred, But Not Required  Working knowledge of Mailchimp, Hootsuite/Buffer, Google Analytics, Wordpress, and blogging  Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS  Love of pop culture, the internet, and social media  Interested in nonprofit and “b-corp” marketing, communications, and culture  Understanding of or experience with inbound/content marketing Rockwood offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
