Writing and Research Assistant - Brad Smith

I write long-form, data-driven content for sites like Kissmetrics, Unbounce, WordStream, AdEspresso, HubSpot, Moz, Search Engine Journal, AutopilotHQ, Core DNA, and more. However it's time-consuming to prepare, and there are a few specific ways I want to raise the quality. So I'm looking for an ongoing assistant to help! This would be part-time initially, either contract or in-house, with the possibility of full-time in the future if you're interested. Experience would be nice, but as long as you're motivated and willing, then I can teach you everything else. The three things you'll get include: 1. Training: I'll train you in all modern marketing methods like inbound marketing, SEO, advertising, conversion optimization, and more. 2. Hands-On Experience: You'll work directly with me on real client work. 3. Business Knowledge: You'll get first-hand experiencing with running a small business and get involved in managing projects, client coordination, the sales process, etc. Day-to-day stuff looks like: - Prepping basic article topic pitches and outlines - Researching statistics and examples for supporting material - Basic image editing in Photoshop or Gimp - Coordinating and managing the editorial calendar workflow (possibly everything from coordinating with clients to sending invoices) - Social media content creation and editorial plan - Preparing email-based newsletters & campaigns Some requirements that help: - You need to know a lot about current technical marketing best practices. - Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are obvious. - I'm looking for digital natives who are comfortable with all current technologies and platforms. - I'd also love to see examples of your ambition (i.e. class projects, blogs, writing samples, awards, sports performance, etc.) - I care that the work is done extremely well and on-time with super attention to detail. I don't really care about anything else, like where you work, what hours, etc. - I won't micromanage either, so you need to be a responsible self-starter that's willing to learn, grow, and get stuff done.
