We are hoping you are a rapid-fire, meticulous clean copy wordsmith. You have an intuitive sense of what sounds great and know how to fix things that aren’t quite right. If that sounds like you … read on … The Alternative Daily, a premiere information publisher with millions of page views per month, is looking to add another editor to our team. This position is a half-time, work-at-home contract position with set hours, specifically, from 1:30 – 5:30 PM Pacific time (and yes - 4:30 – 8:30 PM Eastern, 3:30 – 7:30 PM Central and 2:30 – 6:30 PM Mountain Time all work fine). We currently have a senior editor - we are looking for an additional member of the editing team to be able to keep up with all the great content coming from our writing team. The focus of the role is to take well-written articles and turn them into publish ready versions. Being both very fast and very meticulous is critical, with an intuitive sense of what sounds great and how to fix existing text to get the point across effectively. Your grasp of the English language must be excellent. The ideal candidate is someone who is always naturally in ‘editing mode’ when reading. While you are not responsible for writing original content, you will, at times, need to modify content so that the point of what the author intended is properly conveyed.
